The practical vetting is a paid service with a fixed fee. It covers the time of our expert assessors and your status as a Sew & Grow vetted member. We'll share the exact amount when you apply.

No — the network is open to sewists, tailors, and fashion professionals across South Africa. The only thing that happens in Johannesburg is the optional in-person vetting at our school in Melville.

Not at all. We welcome every skill level — from beginners taking on their first paid jobs to professional fashion designers. The application asks about your experience so we can match you to the right kind of work.

Clients come to us with specific jobs — a tailoring project, a fashion collection, upholstery work, alterations, and so on. We match each job to the right people in the network based on your skills, location, and availability, and we send the lead directly to you.

Yes. Join the network first, take on some work, and book your in-person vetting session whenever you're ready. Many members get vetted after a few months once they've decided to grow seriously through Sew & Grow.
